It takes a village...

We often use or hear that quote when raising our children…the juggling of activities, finding time to serve a healthy dinner that is not McDonald’s on the fly, balancing time spent with each child, partner, and yourself. Most of us have been there or are living it now!

But what about your business? The same can be applied to your business because it also takes a village. How do you find time to hire and retain quality employees? How do you balance your books and still get out to generate sales? How do you keep motivated to feed and keep your business healthy?

Look to your village!!

Take advantage of other businesspeople! Carve out one hour a week and choose from a variety of support systems. Here is a sampling:

· Join a Networking group that meets once or twice a month

· Utilize a business coach

· Schedule a one-on-one meeting virtually or in person with a local business person

· Contact local business organizations who will work with you for free (Massachusetts Small Business Development Center, South Eastern Economic Development, Mass Development, SCORE, Mass Hire, Middleboro Resource Center, etc.)

· JOIN YOUR LOCAL CHAMBER for networking opportunities (during lunch hour or after hours), educational opportunities, and legislative advocacy

· Utilize local Chamber members who want to help community businesses succeed

You are NOT alone! We are in this together! We are a community of businesspeople who want to help each other because a supportive village is a STRONG VILLAGE!
